From 14 to 16 October 2024, Anti-aircraft Artillery Live Fire Exercises took place at the NATO Missile Firing Installation in Crete, with the participation of personnel, weapons systems, and assets of Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Artillery Units.

In particular, fires were conducted by the ASRAD HELLAS, TOR-M1 and the STINGER MANPAD weapon systems.

The purpose of the Firing Exercises was the evaluation of personnel and the testing of anti-aircraft weapons systems and assets in the most realistic conditions possible.

The activity included the implementation of all relevant support fire coordination procedures, achieving the greatest synergy possible of weapon systems with the Fire Direction Centres and the Artillery Unit radar systems.
